FAQ
Questions we get asked.
If yours isn’t here, call +1 210 698 2611. A real advisor answers, and they would rather talk it through than have you guess.
What we do
- Do you book the hunt itself?
No. We are a travel agency, not an outfitter — we don’t sell, arrange or broker hunts, and we are not permitted to. You book the hunt with your outfitter.
Everything around it is ours: flights and routing, firearm permits and written airline pre-approvals, visas, health requirements, ground handling, hotels either side, and someone on the phone if it goes wrong at 3am.
- What does Gracy Travel actually arrange?
Travel planning and booking, specialising in getting hunters and their equipment across borders. We also handle family vacations, cruises, adventure travel, corporate trips and retreats, and special-occasion travel.
- How does the Flawless Itinerary process work?
It starts with listening and asking the right questions, then suggestions, then quality checks on every booking, then active management of the itinerary until you are home.
The checking is the part that matters. A missing signature or a name that doesn’t match a passport ends a trip at the check-in desk, not in the air.
- How long have you been doing this?
Gracy Travel International was incorporated in January 1984 — over 40 years of moving hunters and travelers around the world.
- Can I customise my itinerary?
Yes. Every itinerary is built around what you actually want, not a package. Tell us the shape of the trip and we will work through the options with you.
- Do you handle group travel?
Yes — family reunions, groups of friends traveling together, special-interest groups, and corporate travel and retreats.
- Where do you send people?
Worldwide, including remote destinations. Southern Africa is where we have the deepest experience, with team members living in Europe and Africa.
Firearms, permits and paperwork
- Can you help with visas and firearm permits?
Yes. We handle visa and permit processing, airline firearm pre-approvals, and the health requirements for your destination.
One thing to be clear about: we can prepare and submit, but we cannot issue. The consulate, the airline and the authorities at the airport make the final call, and a pre-approval is still subject to inspection at check-in.
- What paperwork do I get before I fly?
A packet with your itinerary, e-tickets, permits, visas and health information. Bag tags go out separately, two to three weeks before departure.
- What are the health requirements for my destination?
We tell you what vaccinations and health documentation your destination requires as part of preparing your trip, so nothing surfaces at the airport.
While you’re traveling
- What happens if I connect through Johannesburg?
Our team meets you at the aircraft door, walks you through immigration formalities, helps retrieve your firearm permits, and takes you to your connecting flight or to a partner hotel.
- What if something goes wrong mid-trip?
Our emergency desk is staffed 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Delayed bags, weather, a missed connection, a medical problem or lost documents — you call the same number and reach someone who solves these for a living.
- What if my luggage doesn’t arrive?
We trace it. Baggage tracing is part of what the emergency desk does, and it is one of the more common calls we take.
Booking and payment
- How far ahead should I book?
As early as you can, particularly for international travel and anything involving firearms. Early booking protects both availability and price, and it leaves room for permits to come back.
- How do I pay?
Major credit cards and wire transfer.
- Do you offer travel insurance?
Yes. We can arrange cover for trip cancellation, medical emergencies and other unforeseen events. On a trip with this much non-refundable cost in it, we recommend it.
- How do I get started?
